New Gear | SCARPA 4-Quattro Pro | Fall 2024

New for Winter 24/25, the 4-Quattro Pro is the lightest weight, most powerful boot in its class. Whether you're ripping bell to bell laps at the resort or on a mission deep in the backcountry, the 4-Quattro Pro was purpose-built for freeriders in search of the steepest, most challenging lines on the planet.

Delivering additional performance compared to the 4-Quattro XT is no small feat, but it’s accomplished with an new cuff, an all-new Secure Speedlock 4 mechanism, and an updated liner with a reinforced tongue.

Cuff Updates

Quattro Pro on left, Quattro XT on Right

While at first glance, the biggest change between the Quattro Pro and XT is an electric Green instead of Ocean Blue, some of the most impactful updates come in the all-black cuff. The Quattro Pro has more material along the spine of the cuff, which delivers a stiffer feel and faster energy transmission when compared to the XT. You can see in the comparison above, the lack of reinforcing ridges on the the Pro cuff. This extra material does incur a slight weight penalty, but the Pro only weighs 55 grams more than the XT overall.

Another update to the cuff of the Pro is the lower front end. This again promotes faster energy from the cuff to the boot, and down to the skis for a more precise and responsive experience.

Secure Speedlock 4

A quick demonstration from Austin on the Secure Speedlock 4 mechanism

Another update to the Quattro Pro is the new Secure Speedlock 4 mechanism. Nearly identical to the Speedlock 4 mechanism on the rest of the Quattro family, the Secure version has an extra step to remove nearly all play from the mechanism. An additional button is placed on top of the mechanism to fully lock in the cuff to the boot. To operate the mechanism, you lower the lever and engage it in Ski mode fully, and then simply push down on the top to lock. Lifting the lever will unhook and free the cuff while also releasing the the lock.

Updated liner

While Intuition liners are found up and down the SCARPA lineup, the new Intuition Pro Flex Ride is featured on the Quattro Pro. This liner adds a plastic reinforcement to the tongue, again in order to promote faster energy transmission, while also providing additional protection from shin bang.
