Used & Abused | SCARPA Spin Ultra

Having owned them for 4 summers now, my SCARPA Spin Ultras have seen a lot. I bought them when I first moved to Washington (years before working at Summit Sales) since regular hiking boots just weren’t cutting it for me when I moved out here. My issue with a traditional hiker was a lack of feeling what was beneath you and on my specific shoes, the sole got wider as it went to the ground. While the very stable platform was great, combined with a lack of feeling it made me feel like I didn’t know how to walk and led to me stumbling way more than I should have on the trail.

Some light battle scars

A little less spin, still pretty ultra

While I’ve used them more for hiking than trail running, the Spin Ultra has been an awesome shoe for any adventure and has even performed admirably lifting weights at the gym. The low drop, stack height, and weight have made them a shoe I truly turn to for any trip to the mountains and never have to think about them once they’re on. My pair has plenty of battle scars and replaced laces (thanks to my dog), but are still running at 100%.

As much as I’m looking forward to trying something new, it will be hard to find something as trustworthy as my Spin Ultras.
